SPORTS COMPLEX “333” PREPARES WORLD-CLASS FIA KARTING TRACK

In 2022, a major renovation of the Grand Track will start at “333”. The long-awaited changes are a great opportunity to develop and strengthen motorised sports in Latvia at an international level.

After 19 years of existence of the 333 Grand Track, the Sports Complex ”333” is starting extensive reconstruction works. Several dozens of different types of equipment are involved in the renovation.

The new track project include complete replacement of asphalt pavement, as well as configuration and terrain level changes, making it the fastest karting track in Latvia. The total length of the new track is 1340 m (instead of the previous 1200 m), with 15 corners in the karting configuration, 7 of which are right turns and 8 are left turns, including a 6% banking in one of the corner sections.

“The rebuilding of a track is a complex and nuanced process – it involves a lot of responsibility and constant monitoring of the work process, but we are working to ensure that the end result is pleasing to the athletes, sustainable and of the best quality”, says Elvijs Švāģeris, Track Manager of ”333”.

In addition, the track is also being built for other disciplines, including PRO class drift cars. The new track is also expected to include a 200-meter long drag race straight with a width of 15 meters.

The reconstruction work is being carried out in accordance with the latest FIA standards, which will allow for hosting world-class karting races. The track will also be available for training of various types of motor sports (karting/moto/cars) and trips with “333” rental karts on a daily basis.
